Ueshima Coffee Company
Since 1933, Ueshima Coffee Company has been distilling the unique culture of Japanese craftsmanship into every cup of coffee. The finest quality beans are taken on a journey from seed to sip, and precision roasted under the watchful eye of our Japanese coffee masters for an exceptional flavour.
We know people can be a little bit surprised and intrigued by the idea of Japanese coffee – two worlds which don’t usually collide (in Europe, anyway), merge for something new and different.
That’s why – with the help of the Maneki-neko – we’re rolling out our first UK advertising campaign across video on-demand (YouTube, Sky, and ITV X), Facebook, and Instagram, before we head to the London Underground and large outdoor displays across the UK.
Traditionally found in entrance ways, Maneki-neko – the beckoning cat – is a Japanese icon that brings good luck. So, who better to help us spread the message?!
We know – it’s a bit unusual. But so are we.
And we think it’s time to let the people of the UK know, #bettercoffeebeckons… Huge thanks to Maya Fuji – the Japanese artist who worked on this campaign in collaboration with Nexus Design Studios – and Uncommon London, who helped us launch our first ever advertising campaign.
