Coaltown Coffee
Our home is in Ammanford in southwest Wales, a post-industrial community where Anthracite coal (Black Gold) fueled the local economy. Back in 2003 the last of the collieries closed and with it went our town’s purpose. Coaltown’s ambition was to bring a new industry to our home, a new Black Gold, a new purpose. In 2018 we achieved just that and our town is producing again.
Ethically sourced green coffee from the best producers in the world.
Roasted in a Post-Industrial town, paying above the Real Living Wage.
No cutting corners. Fresh High-Quality Delicious coffee, always!
Our coffee is roasted daily in our Ammanford Roastery using our Probat GG75 Roaster and a 12kg Probat Roaster. We use compostable coffee bags made by Biotre and exclusively use compostable coffee cups in all sites, made by a fellow B corp: Decent packaging. All Waste coffee chaff & grounds get donated to local gardening groups for composting. We also educate our wholesale clients to encourage planet friendly procedures. Our Roastery is run on 100% renewable energy working with opus energy – the first UK energy supplier pledging to be carbon negative in the next 10 years.
