Papua New Guinea is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world, but also one of the least explored. Most of the population live in isolated communities scattered throughout dense rainforest that cloak a spine of mountains running through the country. It is in these highland regions where some of the world’s most beautiful birds are to be found, including the Birds of Paradise. The colour, plumage behaviour and song of these birds defies belief. Paradisaea Raggiana graces our Blackgold label and is without doubt a fitting ambassador for this very special coffee.
Grown in ancient forests at high altitude, this Papua New Guinea coffee is as smooth as silk. Each bean releases dark cocoa flavours, as well as a hint of berry.
This high altitude, single origin Arabica coffee bean is grown in highland forests. Family-owned estates grow the original Jamaica Blue Mountain varieties that flourish under the shade of old forests. BlackGold is a beautiful even bean with a rich and smooth body. A great brew any which way, but a filter, stovetop or espresso will produce a stronger brew.
