About this Coffee
From the city of Oaxaca, one might think any coffee farm within the state of Oaxaca is a short drive away. But even at a quick pace, Macario’s farm still takes close to 6 hours to reach. The drive is worth it though, and the contrast of Macario’s peaceful farm with the bustling city of Oaxaca can at once be startling and at the same time, quite welcoming. This is our fourth year sharing Macario’s entire harvest with you and we are impressed as ever with how delicious his coffee is.
Fresh off the grind we are smelling sweet dark fruit like ripe blackberries. A lovely red licorice note can be found in the cup, joined by hints of tropical fruit like guava. As always we are amazed at the level of complexity found in Macario’s coffee – truly some of the best coffee Mexico has to offer!
