About this Coffee
Fazenda Progresso was established in 1984 but has only been producing coffee since 2005. Prior to that, the farm specifically produced potatoes and is one of the largest potato producers in Brazil. The farm was started upon 800 hectares of land in the Chapada Diamantina region of Bahia, with plans to expand in agriculture. This coffee was sourced through our origin partners, Agricoffee, who we have been working with for over seven years.
The producers who currently contribute to Ukuku are from Jaen and Cutervo, of the northern area of Cajamarca in Perú. Year after year they have been improving the quality of their coffee and keep pushing forward independent of the adversities they might face. In the last 10 years, these farmers have been through many changes as passing from harvesting
others crops or coming from the production of conventional coee. Now a days, they focus on producing high quality coffee, which has gotten them better prices and living conditions.
