About this Coffee
Our signature espresso blend from outstanding producers in Brazil and Guatemala. Roasted a little darker to accentuate body, richness and notes of black forest gateau.
It’s time to rejoice in the dark side of life. This blend has been roasted for body and strength. Grown by two speciality coffee producers in Brazil and Guatemala who dedicate their time to producing the sweetest, highest quality coffees.
The Brazilian element is grown by Guy Carvalho, who owns Fazenda Paraiso, whom we’ve worked with for years. He runs a very well organised and modern farm and the result is evident in his super consistent coffee that is sweet, silky and brings a lovely syrupy mouth feel to the blend.
Huehuetenango (commonly pronounced “way-way-teh-NAN-go”) is one of the most famous coffee-growing regions in Guatemala. It’s considered a “coffee economy” and is estimated that around 80% of the population make their living from coffee either directly or indirectly.
This is one of the most remote and hilly coffee growing regions of Guatemala, and the small producers of this region generally master the farming techniques very well. It’s common to find farmers taking care of the whole process themselves from picking the coffee, all the way through to drying.
