About this Coffee

El Mirador is quickly becoming a seasonal classic for Novo – for good reason too! Every year this crop is consistently delicious and may be one of the best in Guatemala. It stands out on the cupping table and also in our coffee offering line-up as well.

El Mirador is a coffee from Huehuetenango, the area of Guatemala where some of our favorite Guatemalan coffees are grown. El Mirador is named after the Sierra de los Cuchumatanes, the highest non-volcanic mountain range in Central America. This range is a perfect lookout, or “mirador” in Spanish. The 12 farms that produce El Mirador sit in this range, with altitudes ranging from 1,400 to 2,000 meters above sea level. These 12 farms range from small to medium scale coffee growers, and are bonded by their commitment to producing excellent coffees.

In this year’s crop, we experienced tasting notes of Red Apple acidity, light and sweet Walnut, and Milk Chocolate brings balance to the cup.
