About this Coffee

Situated near the Sidama province, Gora Kone washing station is located in a mountainous region known for its exceptional coffee. Gora Kone, located in the river valley within the Nensebo province, receives carefully selected cherries from 600 to 1000 local farmers cultivating small fields in the area.

Nensebo is an area with immense potential for Ethiopian specialty coffee, boasting hills, mountain ranges, and abundant forest cover. The natural shade provided by trees like acacia and wranza, as well as enset, or false banana trees, create an optimal environment for coffee trees. Gora Kone is technically classified as a Sidama coffee because of the regions’ similarities and proximity to each other, however Nensebo is located just north of the Sidama province. At elevations ranging from 1900 to 2050 meters above sea level, the Nensebo coffee trees produce incredibly robust cherries.

Gora Kone exhibits a complex profile with floral notes and hints of citrus. With this year’s crop you’ll taste crisp notes of honeysuckle, lemonade, and black tea.
