Our near Southside of Chicago neighborhood, Bridgeport, is geographically bound on the north by the South Branch of the Chicago River, the west by Bubbly Creek (the historically polluted Chicago River’s south fork), the south by 39th St (the entrance to the old Stockyards) and the east by the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. 5 Mayors of Chicago (1933-1979/1989-2011) from Bridgeport were all Irish descended from immigrants, today our small piece of our beautiful City is one of the most diverse of any community in Chicago.
