About this Coffee

SGD 26

Situated just 35 kilometers from Guatemala City, El Guatalon lies in Santa Rosa de Lima’s Belen Village. Here, coffee thrives amidst lush pine, cypress, and native trees. Managed by four generations over 60 years, El Guatalon boasts a legacy of high-quality coffee production.

With five microregions categorized by altitude and soil, El Guatalon offers diverse climates and ecosystems. Owner Guillermo Antonio Juarez Solares, an agronomist, returned to share his knowledge with coffee trees, successfully countering Coffee Leaf Rust with innovative methods.

The eco-friendly wet mill employs natural well water and recirculation for sustainability. Processed coffee wastewater is treated, and pulp becomes natural fertilizer. After being washed, the coffee is spread on concrete patios to dry in the open sun for 10-12 days.

In 2021, El Guatalon clinched 20th place in the Cup of Excellence, a testament to their commitment to quality and the environment. This Guatemalan coffee showcases a clean cup with refreshing acidity reminiscent of crisp apples, a juicy mouthfeel, intricate grapefruit layers, and a gentle touch of honey-like sweetness.
