Klatch Coffee

Klatch is a family-owned and run coffee company based in Southern California and distributed worldwide. We source, roast, and brew our own coffee and apply our scientific method to accomplish a taste best described with expletives and exclamations. Some say it’s obsessive, we say it’s fun.

Our methodical approach is a mix of coffee artistry and mad scientist — obsessively meticulous and thoroughly documented over many tastings to get it just right. We call it our “peak of flavor method,” and it’s earned us a spot on the world coffee stage for three decades and counting.

Highest Quality Coffee

We spend a lot of energy searching for and studying the absolute best ingredients that benefit everyone and everything!

Mike Perry

Mike wears many hats at Klatch: Roastmaster, Green buyer, CFO, and Dad. His background in chemical engineering and love for great coffee balances science and artistry in what we call the “Peak of Flavor” roasting style, resulting in the perfect cup. It’s our belief that the art of Klatch begins right where the seeds are planted, so Mike painstakingly travels the globe to select the finest results of each harvest, so you get the finest coffee available.

Cindy Perry

Cindy is the calm and sweet presence that our team looks up to as a great role model. She has been described by her daughters as the glue that holds Klatch together and by her husband as the “better half.”

Heather Perry

Heather began working in Klatch Coffee’s retail stores, building skills that later earned her numerous competitive titles including Regional Champion, United States Champion, and 2nd place in the World Barista Championships, just to name a few. She’s also built a reputation as a professional trainer, lending her expertise to individuals and organizations in over a dozen countries, and previously serving as Chair of the Barista Guild of America and President of the SCA. She now heads up the family business as CEO of Klatch Coffee.

Holly Perry

Holly began sweeping beans behind the counter when she was 5 years old and truly grew up in the coffee industry. After graduating from Cal Poly Pomona with a BA in Hotel and Restaurant Management, and becoming a certified sommelier, she’s now Retail Director for the family business and could not imagine doing anything else. You can find Holly in and around the Klatch retail stores, visiting other cafés, or judging latte art throwdowns.

Direct Trade

Our Klatch Direct Trade Coffee journey begins with a partnership with like-minded producers – those who share our same commitment to ethics, excellence, environmental stewardship, quality, and community.

Klatch follows a Direct Trade Coffee model that is designed to meet the needs of the families in today’s market. We buy straight from the growers, cutting out the traditional middleman. In doing so we’re able to pay well above Fair-Trade minimums – by at least 25% – but often pay double or triple those prices based on the cup quality. Our buying model is designed to push the envelope of quality coffee by encouraging viable, meaningful careers in specialty coffee agriculture.

As situations allow, Klatch team members or representatives will visit the farms bi-annually to see first-hand if the farmer is committed to healthy environmental, social, and economical practices for their farm, the workers, and the community.

We only buy Cup of Excellence quality coffee and above, often 90 points or more. The farmer who grows such award-winning coffee is a true artisan and should be giving their due. Recognition develops dedication to craftsmanship, skill for production and a passion for quality. Through our Klatch Direct Trade model, we have not only simplified the supply chain, improved the quality and sustainability for farmers, but we’re building long-term relationships.
